Basic Facts

This is my basic facts test for term 3 .I need to get quicker at recalling my subtraction facts and working faster for this test.

I am good at  making my capital letters correctly. I need to work on making my letters bigger .

Acrostic poem

We have been learning about different kinds of  poems. There is a Acrostic poem I wrote about Summer and Christmas.

Vaseline Saucer

This term we have made Vaseline Saucers. We made it for maths and Symmetry.  Each side has to be the same as the other side . I didn't get a photo and so I have added 2 of my friends pictures to show what we did.

Christmas tree

We had to sketch a Christmas tree and as we sketched the tree we wrote down  words that we
thought of around Christmas . Then we created a poem.

Art

This term we have completed two pieces of art.

One was inspired by an artist named Kadinsky who used coloured circles in his work.
We looked at the contrast between warm and cool colours and the black and white of the buildings.

Our second piece was using the Maori words we have learnt and using these to create a visual picture.

The words become the shape of the picture.

Weather in Maori

I got 15 out of 60 I am good at doubles and halves to 20. I need to work on Tens that add to 100.

Today Tania came to teach us about coding and how to use coding languages. Here is my awesome gingerbread man coding from today...

Some words I have learnt. I am using computational thinking to code my gingerbread man or girl. If I have a mistake in my programme it is called a bug and I need to debug my programme.

Kauri Art

1.We painted the clouds white and grey .
2.We dyed the background light blue .
3.We made the trunk by finger painting with white and black and brown paint.
4.We cut up  pieces of green paper.
to make leaves.
5. We made slogans about saving the Kauri trees.

Pou Writing

As part of our writing programme we have been doing environmental writing. We had to sketch an object and as we were sketching we wrote down thoughts that we had. Then we wrote our thoughts down  as a poem. We cut out the sketch and added this to our writing.

We have been learning to work out multiplication problems involving 2 times tables. Here is some work I did. I needed a bit of help.

We have been working on answering basic facts questions quickly and instantly.

I am at Stage 2-3.

We have been learning to form our letters correctly and to use capital letters in the correct place.

I am good at forming my letters.

I need to get better at my copying carefully.

Mr Golf

We have been learning how to play golf

I liked the competion.

I am good at swinging the club from i a 'y' to a 'L' shape.

I need to work on lifting the ball off the ground.

If some one hit the flag Mr golf had to do ten push ups.

Hot Air Balloon

This week we have used a picture as motivation for our writing. We had a story starter and
then we had to carry on the story. What I like about my writing is you can have a good imagination.

I need to improve on adding more good words. We also made a google draw showing the things that we would take with us in on the balloon.

I have been waiting for a long time. I have seen Mountains and birds. I went to Australia I saw snakes and spiders. It was my mum's birthday on the hot air balloon. My balloon was colourful it has lights on it. With the money I would buy a monster truck with my friends. For dinner we had pizza. It was yum. My monster truck would be a golden wolf. I just wish that I could be on one. When I'm a man I'm going on one. Then I would be rich and famous.

Animal Town

This week we have used another picture as motivation for our writing. We had a story starter and then we had to carry on the story.

What I like about my writing is that the picture helps me to write my story.

I need to improve on writing more and checking my spelling.

It feels so good to be in Animal Town.

I could be a lion in Animal  Town. I would look

like a lion with hair around my head.

I have orange and black skin.

I could be the king of Animal Town I will have guards.
my guards would be the bear, koala ,giraffe and zebra. I trained them.

to be my guards to fight for me. I will have a statue of me roaring.
The people would have a good life.

Pou

ASB Getwise

On Wednesday we had Marlon from ASB Get wise talking to us about saving our money, spending money on needs not wants and using invisible money ie eftpos. I have made a google draw to show what I have learnt. I liked learning about the different coins and notes.

Art

We have been working on using different art techniques to draw our faces. We have used sketching
pencils to sketch our faces, making sure we made our facial features an accurate shape, size and
putting them in the correct places.

We learnt about Picasso’s style and made our own funky Picasso portraits

Swimming

We have been working towards becoming a confident swimmer by learning how to be a safe swimmer. We learnt that we should always swim with an adult and to always wear a life jacket when we are on a boat. At our swimming lessons we have learnt how to float, kick, glide and use rainbow arms and we are still learning to breathe correctly.

I like Garden to Table because you get to eat.
